Fishing has been fair in the Lower Laguna Madre over the past week. Decent numbers of specks have been taken over the deeper flats on the west side - areas like Laguna Vista Cove and Stover's Point have been the most consistent. Some larger trout have been caught off Long Bar and in South Cullen. Redfish have been found in the shallows, but are still somewhat reluctant to eat. Good numbers of mangrove snapper and sheepshead around the causeways and up the ship channel. Black drum good in South Bay channels.
