Fishing has been steady on the Lower Laguna Madre over the past week despite incredibly high winds. Good numbers of keeper-size specks have been taken along the channel edges and deep flats during the early morning/light wind periods. Once the wind has come up anglers have been relegated to the shallows where they’ve found plenty of cooperative redfish. Amber-colored Sea Devils have worked well for redfish. Snook have been solid on topwaters during the low-light periods of early morning and late evening.
