Matagorda Fishing with Captain Forrester

A good day and a great group Saturday in West Matagorda. Started off with a jam up day light bite using soft plastics, with the majority of the fish being caught on red and white Brown Lures. We stayed with some extremely thick grassy areas, loaded with bait. Bite died off quickly and did not pick up again until noon, and it was on again. These Trout were extremely hungry, inhaleing the lure everytime, and when it was time to get them to the cleaning table there bellies told all. They were full of Croaker, and Mullet, and I really couldnt see how they were going to fit anything else in there, but that was there plan, we ended up with 25 Trout and 2 Reds. Sunday was the Laungerie On The Bay Tournamnet. I chose to fish East Matagorda because of the Lock situation and for a chance to get Amy, Megan, and Terry on the board. The bite was somewhat slow throughout the day, but they had a few nice Trout and a good Redfish, but our problem was the Flounder we needed for the stringer of 3, and we couldnt find that dang Flounder. I congratulated the girls, because they tried sooooo hard, and fished until the last minnute, ” I mean they were troopers ” ! They said they were ready to do it again next year with me, so look out, were coming back! I Thank You All For Looking, and wish you all some good days on the water.

Thanks Again,

Capt. Hollis Forrester
