Despite the wind, off-colored water and every thing else the weather has been throwing at them, Aubrey and crew have been bringing in solid speckled trout and redfish. Listen in for some tips on fishing around rocks, as well as some different ways to rig your soft plastic lures. The 30" trout have been rarer this time of year, but he has seen some solid 28"-29" fish along with some thick redfish. Aubrey goes to soft plastics like Devil Eyes first, especially dark colors like plum, dark strawberry, rootbeer and morning glory. He also has been throwing some topwaters and Corky's on occasion. It looks like big fish are still there to be caught, and according to "Donk" they should still be good sized into May. If you want to know more about catching big trout in legendary Baffin Bay be sure to listen to this special podcast, because Jim has a TON of information to share. Him and Jake cover everything from water conditions, to salinity, colors and types of lures to use, as well as how to present your lure. Lately Donk has moved to throwing more dark colored soft plastics and dragging them on the bottom while wade fishing. Braided line is also helping with their presentation, but look out for the rocks. For those of you with a swimming pool in your backyard, Jim also has some great tips that you can practice at home.
