<itunes:summary>Today we have a feature fishing report straight from Port Mansfield with Captain Mike McBride. Mike shares a TON of helpful information covering everything from jigheads to using braided line, plus some tips for fishing for trout and redfish in Texas. He also reviews some of the different reels he has been using lately, including the Shimano Curado, and other gear that helps with South Texas fishing.

A major part of Captain McBride's fishing philosophy is the importance of reading the water. He won't give away all the secrets here, but if you listen in you might pick up a few tips on how to read the conditions yourself.

Mike is a full-time fishing guide out of Port Mansfield, Texas and also writes for Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine. You can reach him and Captain Tricia from Skinny Water Adventures (http://www.skinnywateradventures.com/) at 956-746-6041.

<itunes:summary>Captain Aubrey Black called in to give us an update on Baffin Bay fishing. Despite the wind, off-colored water and every thing else the weather has been throwing at them, Aubrey and crew have been bringing in solid speckled trout and redfish. Listen in for some tips on fishing around rocks, as well as some different ways to rig your soft plastic lures.

The 30" trout have been rarer this time of year, but he has seen some solid 28"-29" fish along with some thick redfish. Aubrey goes to soft plastics like Devil Eyes first, especially dark colors like plum, dark strawberry, rootbeer and morning glory. He also has been throwing some topwaters and Corky's on occasion.

If you would like to try chasing some Big Trout in Baffin Bay, consider a trip with Aubrey. You can reach him via his website http://captblack.homestead.com/ or by phone at 210-355-5091. Also, check out Aubrey's website for up to date fishing reports and videos.

<itunes:summary>Captain Ernest Cisneros--the South Texas Snook King--joins us today to talk about spring fishing down in the lower Laguna Madre. Listen in as Ernest shares tips on following birds, working artificials and selecting what color to use.

Lately Ernest has been using Pumpkinseed and Plumtreuse soft plastic tails with an 1/8 oz jig head. He works them along the potholes and shells on the bottom where the speckled trout are lying this time of year. Ernest--who is also a science teacher--has a lot of great fishing information to share, and likes to help people learn more about fishing.

Him and Jake cover everything from water conditions, to salinity, colors and types of lures to use, as well as how to present your lure. Lately Donk has moved to throwing more dark colored soft plastics and dragging them on the bottom while wade fishing. Braided line is also helping with their presentation, but look out for the rocks.

For those of you with a swimming pool in your backyard, Jim also has some great tips that you can practice at home. It is a great way to watch the action of your lure and to get a feel for the sink rate.

If you are looking to catch some big trout and redfish for yourself, Capt. Donk's lodge is a great place to start. Check out the Poco Loco Lodge at http://www.pocolocolodge.com/, or give them a call at 361-325-4551.
