Started off friday night with a 1/4 moon wade with clients Matt Velasquez and Nick out of Houston, Tx. First half of the night the wind was blowing pretty hard, but it followed the forcast and dropped down to about 5 mph at 3:00 am. It was then when I thought they were going to [...]

Fishing is really good in the Laguna Madre right now!! We are targeting schooling redfish as well as larger speckled trout with Chartreuse Devil Eyes using 1/8 oz Tru-Loc jig heads. There are three large schools of redfish in the Upper Laguna and still lots of nice trout along the drops. Start out [...]

Strong winds have returned to the Lower Laguna Madre over the past few days. Trout action has been steady, although many areas are holding mostly “short” fish. Anglers working the deeper flats and channel edges have been able to scratch out limits or near-limits, but had to go through a lot of throwbacks to get [...]

Galveston Bay Report
I don’t ever remember it being this hot in June. The high temperatures coupled with this persistent westerly wind makes it feel like you’re in a convection oven. The surface water temperatures in the bay have been hitting 87 degrees on a regular basis. All of [...]
